I have a H1 B which is expiring on Sep 6 2010
I'm currently in India.
Question:
Can I travel on H4 to US, and then once in US transfer my H1 to an employer after my H1 expires?

I am listening to the call. Debra Rogers from USCIS stated:
1. Approx 300 k EB cases received in Jul AUG.
2. All Family based cases entered and receipts issued.
3. All EB based AOS applications will be entered and receipts issued by End of this month.

i've been in the US on a f-1 visa since 2006. i am getting my masters at the moment. i am planning on getting married to my girlfriend who is a US citizen. i have been with her for the past 2 years and am dearly in love with her. we plan on getting married and i was wondering if i get married to her, can i apply for a green card right away or do i have to wait for a while before i can apply for a green card. she is also a student getting her bachelors.
my second question is that if i can apply for a green card then could i take a semester off and return to studying next semester or would that be a problem since i am on an F-1 visa.
i would appreciate it if i could get an answer soon so that i could take the semester off.

Yes, you need to get the difference in fees. HDFC knows about this and will issue a new colored fee slip.

Hi Friends,
I'm working with employer A and my PERM labor got certified with employer B. My second H1B duration ends Sep 2011 (12 months) and I can recapture 5 months.
1. Will I get 3 yrs of H1B extension if do the H1B transfer after my I-140 with employer B is approved.
2. Will I get 2 years of H1B extension (09/2011 + 1 yr with approved Labor) if I do H1B transfer now?
3. I went for a vacation and returned US just now. My employer A has generated pay stub only for a week and forgot to pay for the vacation. Is it Ok to submit partially paid last pay stub for the H1B transfer. FYI, I've all the other pay stubs for the previous months.
It'll really helpful to decide based on the folks replies. Thanks alot for the help.

Hi, I have approved H1b through company "NewCompany" but my GC sponsoring company "GCcompany" is planning to cancel my APPROVED 140. Again, I know USCIS will do inted to deny and Yes, I have filed for 485 + it's been 180+ days but I guess the most important question of all is:-
"Will this affect my H1B status?' Since the approval for new 3 year (extension) was based on my 140 and now this thing is under jeopardy. If I use EAD, my wife will no longer be H4 and thats a different problem- Gosh when is thind going to end?"

Hello everyone, My husband whose PD is Oct 2006 EB2 got his email today...
On March 24, 2010 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
I have two questions...
1) How is it possible to get GC out of turn.........?
2) We moved to a new house n updated the address, but for some reason it was not correct. The system(also the customer service) wont let me update till 45 days have passed. Now the document will come to the wrong address? What do i do?

I am on H1-B, i-485 is not filed yet, and i may have to take a job in different state, will i have to file change of address form? are there any other forms. thanks in advance

No, you don't need the I-864. The interview letter that you got might refer to an I-864, but this is often because the local district office has standard interview letters and they are more often for family cases than employment cases. I've seen this happen often.
