I had filed my i-485 along wid my whole famliy on 2nd july . My checks got cashed yesterday for all of us. But when i seee online its shows case pending for all of us expect my younger son ..w ehave reciept but we cant locate his reciept number online.Its showing number doesnot exist . So wat can be the reason behind it. I have reciept numbers for his i-485 and i765 juss can see his status online..

I will be filing my EAD renewal end of this month at NSC.

I am EB2-India and my priority date (End-April 2006) is current since the beginning of September 2010. My case was transferred from Texas center to Newark, NJ in 2008. I haven't heard anything from the Newark office since my date becoming current and it's over a month now. Is this normal? Please advise.

I had a really good experience in Nogales last week, I got my visa stamping on the same day of my appointment and the NVS International team was great. They arranged everything for me:transportation from the Tucson Airport to Nogales, they arranged my hotel stay, bank draft as well as transportation from the hotel to the consulate. It was a real stress reliever to know that I had somebody there to help me and advise me on what to do. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. www.nogalesvisaservices.com
Important, remember to take your client letters if you are doing any consulting for a particular client and take all your tax return information. Take every piece of information that specifies where you work and what your job duties are.

I filed green card with my old emp. in 2002, i applied for i485 July/07 and in APR/08 i change my job to similar profession, now i work and live in MD, and my interview for status adj is sch in NJ, should i notify and change address to MD since i live , work and my current emp. in MD. This used to be no big deal, but since we've seen many RFE's and rejections for H1B extension at VSC, I feel like posting here. My employer is a midsized consultancy corp, pretty decent for the time I worked for them in past two years so I suspect they don't have any past violations. My six year H1B will expire end of this year. H1B extension was filed last week on premium processing. It is 3 year extension based on approved I-140. It is approved about 7 days after receipt.

As far as I know you do not need to get a new visa stamping. At least, it was like that when I was on F-1. What you need to re-enter is to have I-20 from new school. Check with the school's international students adviser.

Has anyone contacted senators in NJ and got any response? I contacted them through regular mail filling out the forms from their website and enquiring on my pending 485 but haven't recived any response from either of them yet. I sent my papers on Sep 2nd and haven't heard anything back.

I have a Masters Degree in the US and the 5 yr experience required for the EB2 also the position requires it; however my lawyer made a mistake and asked for an EB3.
I already received my I-140 and my I-485 was filed at the same time.
What can I do to change to EB2?

If we are on H1 and able to file I-485(AOS) and continue to be on H1 until it expires. Then are we automatically on AOS after the expiry of H1? Or do we have to inform USCIS our intent to switch to AOS?
The reason I am asking this question is: I saw a case, although not similar, where the individual was on H1 and applied I-485 (inJuly 2007), he continued on H1 until it expired and decided to stay on h1 and so his employer applied for extension of H1 in 2009. At that time he received an RFE, the employer did not respond to the RFE. So, eventually the H1 Extension was denied.
After that USCIS denied his I-485 also. Reason give was: "Since the H1B EOS (Extension of Status) request was denied, it did not grant, or have the effect of granting, a lawful status during its pendency."
Please have your thoughts on this. Cause I am sure many of us have started using EAD, but did we transition the right way from H1 to EAD?

New employer will file the labor after 3 months (HR Policy)..I have good relations with previous employer, they are ready to file I485. Is it possible to file I485(previous employer), while I am working with new employer?
I am not sure but I came to know (not reliable source), that it is possible to file I485(previous employer) and during the interview, I can submit a support letter from the new employer. is this correct?
