That only 57 is required is not correct. The vote needs 60 to pass the motion. If no is totaling up only 37 but if yes is 59 still then it would not pass. Also if the senator is absent then it is considered a NO vote.
Did you check the link in the original post? It clearly says " Required For Majority: 3/5" meaning 3/5th of the votes is required to pass it. All vote counts in the senate are relative, never absolute. Simple passing of a vote requires 1/2 of the votes and cloture motion requires 3/5 of the votes.

This bill is purely on the theory of Common man vs politician
What is a politician?
Politician is a contaminated breed of Human species. Here's the difference.
When a common man see the problem, he tries to make a resolution and tries to make a permanent solution helping everyone.
Now what does a politician do.. he see a problem and think how can he pretend to get a resolution while trying to make use of the problem for his political advantage hurting everyone and even hurting who were not effected by that problem and then use the same cycle to resolve the residual problems of the so called "solution" for his gains.. and this goes on and on and on.
Moreover the worst part of the story is no matter where you go in this world, you will find this weed growing everywhere and there is no weed control chemicals to kill them and surprisingly common man is a fertilizer to grow it.

I do not think CIS has that much smartness in them. Different sections seem to go about the motions on their own schedule. They seem to be an uncoordinated bunch so far.
How do you explain push for EAD approvals before June 30th? ppl got approvals in matter of days (in most cases less then 20 days)

We have to stick to immigration reform..
Let's not get into the medicare/social security/income tax issues.
That would open a complete new front on which the immigration refrom opponents can attack you...
Our organization has to steer clear of the landmine issues like Medicare, Social Security reform. Those issues have sank many political careers in washington...These issues are tar pits..swamps...
We are threading a needle here...the thicker your thread gets..the less likely it would get through the needle hole..
We have to maintain focus and not get carried away.

Please step up to the plate. Only five shots to be fired. Only a few precious hours left before I start my travel to DC and I don't mind talking to myself. You are most welcome to interject me with a post stating your contribution.
In my posts so far, I have tried to maintain a distinction between donation and contribution. In my dictionary these are two separate words. If you go thru my earlier posts, I had never requested for donations, every time I used the word contribution.
For me the only big difference is; donations are made because you heart told you to part with a small fortune because the cause was moving or the subject was close to your heart earlier (but it does not affect you now). Successful outcome is not probably important to you. (For example donating to American Cancer Society). You do not stay back to make sure the cause was actually fulfilled, you would like to, but other events in your life draw you away. Contributions on the other hand are part help and part self help. You believe in the cause and you stay back to make sure the outcome is moving in the right direction, and if it doesn’t, you tend to loose, not only your contribution but your passion too,which is valued so much more than your monetarycontribtion, and if the cause is getting lost you try to bring it back on the tracks someway, somehow.

Gurus, my I-140 petition is pending due to Retrogression.Any idea what would be the scenario when the Pending cases at the Philadelphia Backlog Elimination Centre come through? what i am trying to find here is how many of these cases would be Pre June 2002 ?As per my research,majority of Cases at the Philadelphia centre are post June 2002.

07 case is different. we can't infer much from that. I hope DOS has some insight into the no of pending cases when the move dates like this. I am sure there will be language in the actual bulletin that saves them from flak when the move dates back. The primary aim is to utilize the visa nos. But with all the information available to them the movement should be proportional to the nos available from spillover and etc.,

Do you mean the bulletin on May or June 2007 is to utilize the visa so the dates are not the "real" date? Then how do you know Aug. 2008 move is not for the same purpose? Especially if this movement is caused by spillover.

First of all why do U wanna ask that? Its an employment based visa that ur GC is based on. So, ur employer shud ask that. Why are u asking IVans to do something which is not in their control??? I keep getting red and dont mind if I'm banned. But excuse me...u r misleading IVans. My point is this. We can protest, rally based on the delay. Thats pretty much we can do. Inquiring into a Government agency's internal affairs is none of ur business. And I repeat u dont have any rights to do that as u have NO direct link to USCIS. U have applied thru ur employer and ur employer shud speak for u. Do u even get it? Ur statements and arguments have no logic whatsoever and misleading.

The USCIS automated line for Priority dates is still playing the PD's for June 2007 showing that EB-3 India cut off June 1st 2003 etc..
We have so contrasting images of the efficiency of USCIS. Hope they keep the same tempo as of the last week of June on Oct 1st when the FY 2008 quota kicks in.
The automated line is actually a human trying to speak like a machine :D
If you call the number one has to press so many buttons, hear so many messages and finally when you reach an actual person, it is difficult to get any details on your case.

Anyone having experience renewing DL in Ohio after filing for I-485? Do they issue DL for 4 yrs? Or do we need to apply for EAD (if H1B is expiring and company is not willing to apply for H1 extension) and DL will be issued till the expiry of EAD?
